Sarah Jessica Parker’s Surrogate Burglar: Sentenced to Jail

It has been quite a year for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick, and now the police chief who broke into their surrogate mother’s house has been sentenced to serve jail time.

Barry Carpenter, an ex-Ohio police chief, will be spending the next two years and eight months behind bars for his role in the break-in.

Carpenter’s charges include receiving stolen property, theft in office, and evidence tampering, though his attorney says he’ll be filing an appeal.

Along with another police chief named Chad Dojack, Barry conspired to steal items from the surrogate’s home in order to sell them to the paparazzi.
