The End of Analog TV Broadcasting is Next Year! The Digital Switch Has Come!

Not sure if you were aware of this, but did you know that next year will be the end of analog TV’s? At midnight on February 17, 2009, all full-power television stations in the United States will stop broadcasting in analog and switch to 100% digital broadcasting. Digital broadcasting promises to provide a clearer picture and more programming options and will free up airwaves for use by emergency responders.

Digital TV Conversion Box Coupon ProgramIf you have that regular, analog, standard tube TV, don’t throw it away yet… unless you really want to fully upgrade your television. For those who are unwilling and can’t afford to let go of their old TV set, Congress has created a “TV Converter Box” in which you can plugin your standard analog TV and receive digital broadcasting. Of course, it’s not free. You have to purchase the converter. Don’t worry, the government is giving out coupons for each US household.
