For a fourth year in a row the Salt Grass Trail Riders took first place in the Trail Riders contest. Salt Grass won division 1 honors which is for groups of more than 200 riders. Riders are judged on things like historical authenticity, how well their horses are groomed, and the safety of their ride. The division 2 champion for 2009 is the Valley Lodge Trail Riders. Division 2 is made up of trail rides that consist of 51 to 200 riders. The division 3 champion is the Texas Cattlemen Trail Riders. The winners were announced on Friday afternoon at Memorial Park. All of the trail riders arrived at Memorial Park on Friday. They will parade to Reliant Stadium on Saturday.BRBRBRBR
